This Youngs New World Belgian Saison combines a traditional Belgian yeast that accentuates spicy, peppery, and fruity esters yet has a dry character with the best New Zealand hops and American hopping techniques.

  • Hops Used:- Pacific Jade, Motueka 100g total
  • Each beer kit has its yeast, sugar, priming sugar hop additions, and malt extract, so only water is needed.
  • Flavour: Crisp and acidic, spice and pepper, sweet fruit esters, complex!
  • The finish is long and dry with subtle bitterness.
  • Each Beer Kit Makes 40 pints / 5 gallons of Saison Style Beer, Approximately 6.3% ABV.
  • As an ale style, Saisons have always tended to be a style that enjoys experimentation, notably in the USA.
  • Makes 40 pints
  • Ready in 28 days

This cutting-edge beer style is increasing in popularity in Great Britain and America. Youngs have packed into this ale two hops from New Zealand, Pacific Motueka and Jade, characterised by their heavily fruity, lemon zest, spicy lime, and black pepper characteristics. These work amazingly well with the unique saison yeast spicy and peppery character.

Dry hopping with these hops means the hop characteristic is fresh and bright, lending a great drinkability to this refreshing ale.

This New World beer kit pours a lovely gold with a fluffy white head, a fantastic aroma of spicy limes and a soft fruit character exploding from each glass. On the palate, the body is dry and biscuity, with a lovely crisp acidity that cradles the spicy notes to perfection. This beer is still highly drinkable at a healthy ABV, the perfect hoppy yet drinkable blend of styles in a glass.

Young's Home Brew developed the American range of beer kits to bring the best of American craft brewing to the UK.

The approach is based on the same philosophy as the American craft brewing industry.

Only the best and freshest ingredients are used, not sacrificing quality over cost.

What sets this range apart is the use of specially selected yeasts, including US West Coast Ale dried yeast sourced from an American craft brewery and Newcastle Dark Ale yeast.

All are used to bring out the excellent flavoursome liquid malt extracts with progressive style hops - skillfully combined to bring you a truly inspired range of premium quality American craft beer kits.

What does a Belgian Saison taste like?

Saisons are known for their high attenuation, dry finish, delightful flavours and aromas of citrus fruits (lemon, orange), and slightly spicy, floral, earthy, fruity hop character.

Is Saison beer style French or Belgian?

Saison means “season” in French. The origins of Saison ales can be traced to farmhouse breweries located primarily in the French-speaking area of Belgium known as Wallonia, specifically the province of Hainaut.
